Lima was fun but it was on to bigger and better things mainly Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu was going to be the alleged “start” of my trip but I feel like I´ve seen so much already. The guys were going to meet me in Cuzco on March 14th and I needed to get there fast. I had my choice between an 1 1/2 hour flight or a 30 hour bus ride through Arequipa. Â
Â
Luxury Airlines Star Peru… 2 hours delayed but the flight was only $69.
Cuzco is a pretty touristy town. I get the impression that its present reason for being is to get tourists to Machu Picchu. I didn´t party there but apparently Cuzco is the biggest party town in all of Peru (more so than Lima)

If you see this kid do not buy anything from him (lol)… I think his name was pablo piccaso… well pablo somehthing. He followed me around for 20 minutes, gave me a tour of south Cuzco and made me buy a knock off water color that he claimed “dis is mi work!”. Okay it was only 15 soles ($5) and every time i see it above my bathroom toilet I´ll think of Cuzco..
Haggling for useless items like alpaca gear, rings, neclaces and hats has become one of my favorite pastimes. There are some things a guy just has to have.Â
Incan Stone work is amazing. Those damn Spaniards used the Incan foundations to build “modern” Cuzco. This is the famed 12 sided rock imortalized on the peruvian beer bottle.Â
Rolling in the Bezo to the base of the Inca Trail
About 40 minutes into our drive to the Inca Trail Colin wimpers to our guide in english but in a spanish accent, “I need to stop… Dirrhea!”. 30 seconds later the guide has the bus stopped and C$ made the run for the boarder… okay the field. Accidents do happen… Well is it really an accident after consuming multiple laxitives. What Colin didn´t realize is that after he was done he stepped into his own fescies. Everyone else noticed when if fell off his shoe on the way to breakfast.
Breakfast above the town of Urubamba. Beautiful site and clean fresh air.

Your photos are amazing, especially in Cuzco. Does this mean you’ll be in Peru for a much longer time? I still hope you’ll be there when I get there. Anyway…hope you have a great time hiking that long Inca Trail. Don’t get diarrhea cha-cha-cha! LOL. Take care.
Nice pix. Especially the action shot of C-Monee. Really enjoying your travelogue. One error- that is not the 12-sided stone. I will forward a picture of the true stone immortalized on Cusquena beer. Thanks again for putting to gether a memorable way to spend my 45th.
