After four days in Singapore it was off to see my brother in Abu Dhabi. I was really curious to see how fast they were developing this region. To put it lightly, I was blown away. An added twist is that I would be arriving during Ramadan. This would mean no restaurants would be open during until sun down.
Can you count all of the cranes in this picture?
The Burj Al Arab is a striking building.
The Burj Dubai is said to be the tallest building in the world. To be honest its tough to tell how tall it really is.
They are really expanding the coast line. My brother said that this bit of coast was new and the shore was at least 100 meters to the right 8 months earlier.
I even got to play golf at the Abu Dhabi country club. Micheal has a membership here and its a fantastic golf course.
One highlight was going sand duning in a Toyota Landcruiser. Our driver was a master technician in the sand.
We also got to ride a camel. This camel was on the aggressive side.
No trip to Dubai would be complete without a trip to the Burj Al Arab. Its MUCH nicer on the outside than it is on the inside.
